Peruweld Delivers a Landmark Chimney for ArcelorMittal Dunkirk

Peruweld, the Belgian expert in industrial boiler-making, has successfully completed the fabrication and delivery of a 60-meter-high chimney for ArcelorMittal’s sintering plant in Dunkirk. This ambitious project showcases Peruweld’s technical expertise and commitment to engineering excellence.

The chimney features a robust design with a 6 to 30 mm thick inner wall made of weathering steel, a layer of thermal insulation, and an outer shell of galvanized steel sheet. To ensure maximum resistance to corrosion and high temperatures, Stainless Steel 904L and Duplex 2507 were used. The structure was shipped in segments and assembled on-site using bolted connections. Ladders and platforms are directly attached to the self-supporting wall, ensuring safe access and structural integrity.
